New: Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster!

Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster in Pigeon ForgeAfter months of work and waiting Pigeon Forge’s newest attraction, the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster, is now open!

Located on Wears Valley Road just a short distance from the Parkway, the new coaster has over a mile of track and is the longest down-hill ride in the United States. The ride is completely gravity-fed and riders get to control their own speed with a super-easy manual magnetic braking system. This unique feature means the ride is unaffected by weather so riders can enjoy it year-round in rain, snow, or sunshine!

Riders will strap into their vehicle and be automatically pulled up the mountain on the track until reaching the peak. The ride up is almost as fun as going down because of the beautiful scenery you get to enjoy as your slowly pulled to the top.

After reaching the peak riders simply push down the handles that control the braking system and begin the twisting and turning descent. Riders can go as fast or as slow as they want as long as they maintain distances of 80 feet of separation from other vehicles.

Each cart can carry up to two riders. Carts can reach speeds up to 25 MPH depending on how much the rider uses the brake. This unique attraction is a perfect edition to Pigeon Forge’s repertoire of family entertainment. Be sure to put the new Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster on your to-do list the next time you and your family visit The Land of More!
