Be sure to visit the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, which
is home to one of the largest and fastest flowing mountain streams in the Great
Smoky Mountains National Park. This motor trail is six miles long, offering

The entrance to the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is near
the Rainbow Falls parking area. The Grotto Falls trail head, another popular
waterfall, is located along the loop. Please note that buses, trailers and
motor homes are not permitted on Roaring Fork.
While exploring the Roaring Fork area, a must see is Rainbow Falls, an extraordinary 80-foot tall waterfall named for the rainbow it creates from the mist on sunny afternoons, it’s also the highest waterfall in the Smokies. Grotto Falls is also in the Roaring Fork area, this 25-foot high waterfall happens to also be the only waterfall in the Smokies that you can walk behind.
