Pigeon Forge Things to Do in August

It is hard to believe, but August is upon us. It is bittersweet to say goodbye to summer, to prepare and send the kids back to school, and to get ready for all that the fall season will bring. Pigeon Forge is ready to welcome you in and help your family make the transition. Here is a list of fun activities to celebrate in August!!

Celebrate Freedom is happening in Pigeon Forge throughout the month of August. Active and veteran military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and other emergency responders are honored with discounts at many locations. What a great way to say “Thank You” to these men and women!!

 

Stringtime in the Smokies and 7th Annual Cornhole Tournament at Old Mill Square on August 6th. There will be free music by Grassroots Gringos, Richard Bennett, Wyatt Rice, and Robinella. Festivities begin at 11 am. What a great way to spend a Saturday in Pigeon Forge!

Get some back to school shopping in Pigeon Forge done. With other 300 stores, boutiques, and outlets, you are sure to cross off everything on your list.  Stages West reopened its doors on June 30 and is stocked with all of your cowboy couture needs and more. The shops and boutiques at The Island as well as Pigeon River Crossings also offer a great selection of back to school musts.

Be a daredevil and experience some extreme adventures before summer ends. Whether it be slides and rides at Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country, indoor skydiving at Flyaway Indoor Skydiving, or even a roll down the hill at the Outdoor Gravity Park, your inner thrill seeker is surely to surface.

The Veteran’s Homecoming Parade is August 27th. It will begin at 9 am and travel down the Parkway. This is one more way the city honors our military veterans and makes us proud to be an American!!
