Tourist Tuesday: June 25

Halls Stay in Pigeon ForgeThe Halls sisters from Mocksville, North Carolina are our featured guests for this edition of Tourist Tuesday.

The two sisters told me that they came in from across the Smokies late last night and planned on staying in Pigeon Forge for just a few days.

This was a return trip to the area for the eldest sister. “I’ve been four or five times but this is her first trip,” she said referring to her younger sibling.

“This is her first vacation in a few years so we’re really looking forward to it.”

One of the main inspirations for visiting Pigeon Forge was the trip to Dollywood. I told the Halls sisters that they’re timing was perfect as Dollywood’s Great American Summer just kicked off this past weekend and the park will have increased operating hours, fireworks displays, and much more.

They also said that they planned on going to see the original legends show at Memories Theatre which has been a staple of Pigeon Forge for over two decades.

I asked if there were any favorite restaurants that they planned on checking out during their stay. The Old Mill was mentioned almost immediately. Almost every visitor, especially those from within the South, takes the time to enjoy a meal at the Old Mill Restaurant.

If you’re like the Halls sisters then this summer is the perfect time for a vacation and there’s no better place than Pigeon Forge!
