Tourist Tuesday: May 7

This week I talked with some visitors from Ocala, Florida for our Tourist Tuesday feature. Ed and Terry Mauck are visiting Pigeon Forge for the eighth year in a row!

“We’ve been coming since 2006 and we truly love each trip,” Terry said.

The Maucks are a retired married couple who say they love the various dinner shows that Pigeon Forge has to offer.

Lumberjack Feud Barn“We recently went to the Lumberjack Feud and it was a thrill,” Terry said. “I’ve never seen people with the unique talent that those young people had.”

“Of course we always like Dixie Stampede. Southern food has always tasted great to me. And this week we’d like to try the Hatfield & McCoy show.”

Pigeon Forge has a variety of shows, most of which put on two showings each day. Many of them also include a great meal for dinner with the performance.

Speaking of dinner, I also asked the Maucks where they had eaten during their stay.

“The Old Mill Restaurant was incredible for a breakfast meal,” Terry said. “We also love Calhoun’s and Tony Roma’s.”

Food and entertainment are definitely a couple trademarks of Pigeon Forge. If you haven’t experienced it yet, we recommend you do soon. But be careful…it might turn into eight year stretch of annual trips just like it did for the Maucks!
