Forge a Memory

Here are at Iron Mountain Metal Craft, you can see what each knife starts out as, some “in progress” steps, as well as what the finished knife looks like. Be advised that every knife is a little different (we’re talkin’ handmade folks), but this gives you a good idea about what you can expect to receive at the end of one of our knife lessons. Each knife also comes with a sheath.

Your involvement in each knife is all about the forging of the blade as well as twisting the handle on the nail knife and the railroad spike knife. You are responsible for hammering the glowing steel in order to make a knife. Our staff does the shaping and sharpening. All of this happens in less than an hour from start to finish.

Basic blacksmith lessons are also available; spend 4, 6 or more hours learning at your pace and skill level. If you have a specific project in mind, just let us know and we can create a custom class just for you.
