Tourist Tuesday: August 20

Outside of the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner ShowThe Allen’s from Dalton, Georgia are our guests for this edition of Tourist Tuesday.

Gerry and Karen Allen are a retired couple who have been to Pigeon Forge twice before and have been planning this third trip for months. “We’ve loved our trips here in the past and we started thinking of this one at the start of the summer,” Karen said.

The Allen’s particularly enjoy the famous dinner and entertainment shows that Pigeon Forge has become known for. “We try to go to a show every night,” said Karen. “We always go to Dixie Stampede and the Comedy Barn.”

“This time one of our new thing was the Hatfield and McCoy feud,” said Gerry. The Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show is one of the newer shows in Pigeon Forge. It features a traditional country meal before the show and during the performance spectators are placed on either the Hatfield side or the McCoy side of the feud. “We thought it was so fun,” Karen said. “They’re performers are really funny and talented.”

The Allen’s also said they love going up to Great Smoky Mountains National Park at least once or twice during their visits. I asked them if they were planning a fourth trip any time soon and Karen was quick to answer. “We’re already thinking about this winter. We’d love to come for the Winterfest celebration!”
