GENERAL INFORMATION

Can I get cell phone service in the national park?

Cell phone signals are readily available in Pigeon Forge but can be difficult to find in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Do restaurants and/or stores sell alcohol?

Beer may be purchased at several locations, including convenience markets and grocery stores. Many Pigeon Forge restaurants also sell beer and wine. Wine also may be purchased at the Mountain Valley Winery.

Can I drive my golf cart on the streets of Pigeon Forge?

Usage of a traditional golf cart, defined as a motor vehicle designed for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes and not capable of exceeding speeds of 20 miles per hour, is not allowed on public streets. A golf cart that is designed for on-road use or one that is modified to meet requirements of the low- or medium-speed vehicle and is registered as such, is allowed to operate on streets where the posted speed limit is 35 mph or less. In addition, the vehicle must be registered, licensed and insured.

I have a permit to carry a firearm. Is it okay to bring my gun to Pigeon Forge?

Generally, Tennessee recognizes handgun carry permits issued by any state; however, to lawfully carry a handgun in Tennessee based upon a permit or license issued in another state, you must be in possession of the permit or license anytime you carry the gun in this state. Even though you have a permit and are authorized to possess or carry a firearm, there are restrictions as to where firearms may be carried. That information can be found at handgunlaw.us/.

Do any accommodations allow pets?

There are several accommodations that allow pets. Please contact your accommodation choice prior to your arrival regarding specific pet policies. If you’re spending the day at Dollywood, the park offers accommodations for your pup at Doggywood. Space is limited, so reservations are suggested.
