…Great Local Flare!
If you are looking for a quaint place for lunch or dinner, Pottery House Café and Grille is the perfect spot. It is located in the heart of the Old Mill Square and offers Great Smoky Mountain ambiance with outdoor garden/patio dining as well as cozy indoor dining.
It was just the little divas and I on this particular day and we had the pleasure of having lunch there with a friend and her 2 children. We were all seated at a nice big round table in the back corner of the restaurant. Wise idea!!!! The little divas are loud and busy by themselves. However, double it and it is double the happiness!!!
Their lunch menu offers some great homemade soups, quiches, salads and sandwiches along with a few heartier entrees. The breads are made from scratch daily using stone ground grains. They also offer homemade desserts if you dare. I was in heaven with my Chicken Pot Pie soup and pimiento cheese sandwich which are truly two of my favorite childhood comfort foods. Jellybean enjoyed a cheeseburger and some nice big steak fries while Peanut had her comfort food of choice- Macaroni and Cheese.
All of the meals are served on handmade pottery which is made by locals in the Pigeon River Pottery that is located next door. Even the sinks in the restrooms were handmade pottery. This stuff is beautiful and a great souvenir of the heritage of this area!!!
Known for it’s relaxing atmosphere, along with it’s great down-home flavor and comfort foods, Pottery House Café and Grille is truly a Pigeon Forge treasure. While you are in the area, Old Mill Square also houses some other great places to check out such as the famous Old Mill Restaurant, General Store, Farmhouse Kitchen, Toy Bin, Creamery, and the Candy Kitchen. The whole family is sure to enjoy!!!
