The Inn at Christmas Place
Christmas Memories in May!
The Inn at Christmas Place is captivating from the moment that you drive past it on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Besides the fact that the word “Christmas” struck up happy tunes for our family, the exterior of the hotel offered us an amazing picture of an old world style inn set in the mountains with a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The Christmas atmosphere began as soon as we pulled up to the front doors. There were life-size nutcrackers and carolers along with uniformed doormen who cheerfully assisted us inside. The smells and sounds of Christmas filled the air as we made our way into the lobby. Christmas decorations were everywhere from the beautiful lobby and hallway decorations to the Christmas pillows atop our beds.
We had a standard room with 2 very soft and comfortable queen beds. The little divas loved that the housekeeper left 4 Hershey’s kisses for us each day. Mom loved that we had our own private balcony which allowed her to slip away to sip coffee and enjoy some morning quiet time!!! Speaking of coffee, there was no need for Starbucks on this trip. The hotel has complimentary coffee in the lobby as well at the complimentary breakfast and it has some of their own special blends.
A complimentary hot breakfast is included with the room rate. It was buffet style but was served by their very friendly staff. The little divas and mom enjoyed the omelet bar and had made to order omelets each day of our stay. On Saturday morning, Santa made an appearance for breakfast. However, we only got to see him making his entrance as we were heading out for the day.
The best feature of the hotel for Jellybean and Peanut was, of course, the pool!!! The indoor pool and hot tub are open 24 hours a day. However, the little divas were more interested in the outdoor pool because of the figure 8 water slide. Pool time was a nice, relaxing end to our day. There was plenty of poolside seating and the weather was very pleasant. Jellybean took her turn over and over on the water slide while Peanut swam around with dad as she was not quite tall enough to stand up in any part of the pool.
We had tickets to an evening show so we missed the Saturday night concert followed by milk and cookies with Santa. The little divas were sad but are having to learn that we cannot be in two places at one time!!!
This great hotel has a lot to offer and because of our short stay, we did not get to enjoy as much as we would like. Guess that means we’ll definitely be making another stop at the Inn at Christmas Place.
