Tourist Tuesday: September 3
Today we have some of the most loyal visitors we’ve ever had for our Tourist Tuesday. Jerry Schwartz and his wife have been coming to Pigeon Forge for the past 25 years!
It helps that they live in Cosby, Tennessee, a town in neighboring Cocke County just about 45 minutes to an hour away from Pigeon Forge. “We’ve had season passes to Dollywood for years,” said Jerry.
“We usually come at least four times a year for the [Dollywood] Bluegrass and Barbeque Festival, the international celebration [Festival of Nations] and twice for the Gospel Celebration [National Southern Gospel & Harvest Celebration].”
The couple said they also love to bring friends that are visiting with them on their trips to Pigeon Forge. “Any time we have company we take them to see Pigeon Forge,” said Mrs. Schwartz.
The Schwartz’s said they go to several shows when they visit as well. “We try to go to Country Tonight and we’ve also been to the Comedy Barn,” said Jerry. “I have some friends that work with them and they can often get us tickets to the shows.”
With the Shades of the Past car show coming to Pigeon Forge this weekend, Jerry told me that they also often go to the car shows each year. “We love to go to the car shows and see all the classic vehicles.”
Most of our featured guests are from much further away than Cosby, but it’s nice to know that even guests from nearby the area love to visit The Land of More.
