Theme: The lifeblood of the Pigeon Forge area is tourism. Neighboring the Smoky Mountains National Park, Sevier County receives millions of visitors from all over the world every year. With this in mind, our theme this year is TRAVEL! It could be a favorite excursion or a place you have always wanted to visit. Maybe a mode of transportation as real or as fantastic as your imagination. Whether it is a trip to the stars, a cruise in your car, or both, the sky is the limit, so turn on the Travel Channel and start brainstorming!
Working Time: Participants will have from 8am to 4pm to complete their work. You may continue to work on your piece after this time, but judging will begin at this time.
Judging: There will be 4 professional chalk artists that will act as judges. They will judge on these criteria: creativity, composition, adherence to theme, and use of the medium.
Chalk: You will be provided one box of 36 Reeve’s Soft Pastels, however, you are welcome to bring your own. You may also exchange some of your chalk at the check-in table to get more of a particular color. We will have extra blocks of black and white chalk to use for large areas.
Awards: Awards will be presented on the Ole Smoky Moonshine stage at 6pm.
